Thank you to those members who made an effort to have your voice heard by voting on the new contract for the 2019-2023 contract years.  Your votes have been heard and I am happy to report that the new contract has been ratified and we are starting our next steps with the Office of Administration to finalize the contract.

AFT-Lone Star College wants your input on how we are perceived by different generations of Faculty and Staff. It is our goal to learn from you how we can improve our visibility at Lone Star College for all generations of employees.

Professional Development Funds are a significant benefit to PTLs. We encourage you, in applying for funds, to think outside the box. In the past, funds have been approved for PTLs to attend national and international conferences, to present papers, to pursue research and to purchase classroom materials. All PTLs are eligible for this benefit.

You may have noticed that your dues assessment increased by 23 cents in your most recent paycheck; the increase is by AFT national, which we are constitutionally required to pass along.  There are no increases from AFT Connecticut and dues directly supporting A&R, Local 4200 have remained at the same rate for decades (.40/$100 income). 

September 26, 2019
