Recent political discussion has focused on the alleged bloated wages of public sector employees.  A recent study commissioned by UC Berkeley and Rutgers finds that public sector wages fall behind those of the provate sector.  Those in the public sector generally have higher levels of education and yet their wages lag behind their peers in the private sector.
